Designed in 2018, this stunning lamp draws inspiration from the 1930s Art Deco creations of Walter Von Nessen for the Pattyn Company, and is reminescent of the Prairie Style block designs of Frank Lloyd Wright.  The result is an original design by Phillip Daniel Myer that celebrates the enduring beauty of the Prairie Style while nodding to the elegance of Art Deco craftsmanship.

Crafted from premium quarter-sawn white oak, the lamp’s intricate woodwork highlights the natural beauty of the wood grain, while its antique mission finish lends warmth and a timeless character. The bold geometric lines and refined proportions reflect a deep appreciation for harmonious design, blending nature and architecture in a way that pays homage to the masters without imitation.

Standing at 23 inches tall, with a 10" x 10" shade and a 8" square base, this lamp is perfectly proportioned to grace any space with serene sophistication. The 14-inch clearance from the tabletop to the bottom of the shade offers practical elegance, while the soft, diffused light creates a welcoming atmosphere. The lamp is fitted with an LED bulb for energy-efficient illumination, which is inside the 6 inch diameter white globe, adding to its artisanal charm.

This lamp is not a direct copy of Frank Lloyd Wright’s or Walter Von Nessen’s designs but an homage to their styles, reimagined through Phillip Daniel Myer’s unique artistic vision. A testament to originality and craftsmanship, it stands as both a functional piece and a timeless work of art.

Frank Lloyd Wright style lighting can add style to your rooms.  Different Frank Lloyd Wright style lighting effects contribute to create atmosphere.  General or ambient mica or stained-glass lighting begins to se the mood; whether turned up bright or dimmed down low.  The even glow of mica shaded lamps or a mission chandelier sets the tone.  The mission oak light through a pleated shade is exactly the tone of this rich warm light. Ambient mission oak lighting often works along with task lighting; an arts and crafts lamp pulled up next to a reading chair or next to a bed provides the direct beam of light that is the task light. This is the light that lets you read or work in a dimly lit room.  But it is also the contrast between general mission oak light and the sharper pools of task light that provide mystery and drama to the interior.   The most romantic lighting is accent lighting in our world that means mica lamp shades. The gleam of candles through mica hurricanes, the glow of votives in stained glass scattered through the room across the dining room table or along the mantel.  Tappers aloft above a dining table, bathe the china and crystal in a soft glow, nothing is more atmospheric than mission oak light.  Often all three types of light are used together as a dark entrance hall glow with candles and barely a glimmer of a mission oak chandelier in the hall gives way to the brighter sparkle from silk shades and crystal from the room beyond.
