The lamp stands 20" high, and measures 19.5" x 19.5" at the shade, and has nice proportion.  Designed and handcrafted by Phil Myer in the fall of 2001, this table lamp was the first creation in my journey as an artist woodworker. Inspired by a desire for simplicity and timeless design, I returned to my roots in Battle Creek, Michigan, leaving behind my corporate life in Chicago to craft a lamp that would embody the rustic elegance of the Arts and Crafts tradition.The Holland Style lamp pays homage to Charles Limbert, a renowned designer who worked in Holland, Michigan, over a century ago. This lamp is meticulously handmade in Michigan from 100% solid quarter-sawn white oak, showcasing its exceptional grain pattern and durability. Its striking shade features replaceable panels of Asheville amber mica, casting a warm coppery glow that enhances any Craftsman or Bungalow-style interior.This 20-inch-tall lamp is a study in craftsmanship and design. The base, crafted from 1.5-inch-thick white oak, and the shade, made with 7/8-inch-thick oak, are joined using traditional lap joints and blind mortise techniques. Weighing nearly five pounds, this lamp is as sturdy as it is elegant. Each piece is signed and dated, making it a true collector’s item.The design is a harmonious blend of the Craftsman, Arts and Crafts, and Mission styles, reflecting both historical inspiration and modern sensibility. Finished with an authentic Charles Limbert stain recipe, amber shellac, and Black English beeswax, this lamp exemplifies quality and attention to detail.With dual pull chains, a high-quality braided cloth cord, and compatibility with 40-watt bulbs, the Holland Style lamp delivers both functionality and charm. It continues to be a limited-production piece, cherished by artisans and collectors alike.
